Keep Music Online After Cancellation
Your Daystar releases are not automatically removed just because Orion is not renewed.
Daystar Distro is built so artists do not have to worry about automatic takedowns when a renewal does not go through. If Orion is not renewed, active releases stay live and the account moves to Nova.
What Happens If Orion Is Not Renewed?
- Your active releases are not automatically taken down.
- Your account moves from Orion to Nova after the active Orion plan ends.
- Future releases follow Nova unless Orion is reactivated.
- You can still request a takedown from your dashboard or by contacting support.
Why This Matters
Independent artists need control of their music. A failed renewal should not automatically pull songs away from fans, playlists, and artist profiles. Making music is challenging enough.
Daystar separates release availability from plan benefits. Orion benefits apply while Orion is active, but your music does not automatically disappear when it ends.
Nova After Orion
Nova is Daystar's pay-per-release plan. On Nova, you keep 80% of net royalties. On Orion, you keep 100% of net royalties while your Orion plan is active.
Artist-Controlled Takedowns
You can request a takedown when you choose. Once Daystar sends it out, stores usually take 2-14 business days or longer to remove the release.
Planning a move from another distributor? Daystar supports re-releases with existing UPC and ISRC codes when you control the rights and release details.
